FUN FREEBIE FREE MUSIC TUESDAY FROM iTUNES
|

|
I love music, how about you? You know what I love more than music? Free music. Every single Tuesday, Apple iTunes gives away music from select artists. Sometimes they give away TV shows, too. All you need is iTunes and an internet connection. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not, but it's always free. And free is music to my ears.
All you need to do is download a copy of iTunes from Apple for your Mac or PC. Just go here to download iTunes. Use the iTunes music store to search for your free music. But remember, this is only on Tuesdays. Show up bright and early Wednesday morning, and you'll leave empty handed.

Which is Better for Mobile Business: Blackberry vs iPhone
Business is becoming more and more reliant on mobile phone and mobile technology. As phones become smarter and companies become more global, the need to access email, paperwork, presentations, and data has reached a level that makes it important if not essential for every business. This is why many businesses issue or recommend smartphones to their employees.
The two biggest phones making waves in the smartphone market are the BlackBerry and the iPhone. The Blackberry is a staple of finance, politics, and business work everywhere. In recent years however, the iPhone has been making waves and eating up market share with its slick interface, touch screen, and iPhone applications in the marketplace that seem to have every idea converted into an application.
With mobile trends changing rapidly, business owners are left in a predicament: which phone should his or her business be using? Which one is a better tool for conducting business? To answer that question, we need to analyze and compare each phone and its platform.
Comparing the BlackBerry and the iPhone
There are certain features that are central to business: How fast is the phone? How easy is it to use and learn? What can it do? How reliable is it? These are questions that should be asked by the business internally before choosing or recommending a phone.
Keyboard: The BlackBerry is known for its keyboard. On most versions, it's a QWERTY keyboard that makes it easier to type with two thumbs. The iPhone has a touch screen keyboard that can cause more typos and errors - although if you're a trusting person, the iPhone's autocorrect system is amazingly accurate. Advantage: BlackBerry.
Email: Email is essential to all business - quick correspondence and updates can land or lose big deals. Both phones have fully capable email systems, support multiple emails, and provide alerts, although the iPhone doesn't push new emails as often as many businesses would probably like. The BlackBerry keyboard is a factor in faster emails as well. Advantage: BlackBerry (slightly).
Internet: The iPhone's Internet capabilities are simply superior. Even against the BlackBerry Storm -- the touch screen BlackBerry -- the iPhone simply has a better interface for zooming, entering in content, and loading information. Couple this with the many applications that support in-app browsing as well. Advantage: iPhone.
Applications: This is perhaps the most underrated feature for businesses. Phones can do so much more than calling and emailing these days. Cameras on both phones can send detailed specs and information to partners quickly. Web applications like Facebook and Tweetie make updating a company's account simple on the road. Budget Tracker helps set budgets for companies while Feed Reader helps keep employees up to date on industry news.
The list goes on and on, and while both companies have application stores, the iPhone has more apps, higher quality apps, and more developers working on new ones. Really think about applications and how they can improve your business productivity before choosing a phone. Advantage: iPhone.
Which phone to choose? It depends on the purpose.
Finally, when a business must decide on a phone, it needs to take a hard look at its employees and the purpose of the phone. Are the employees early adopters or an older crowd? Would they be willing to use applications to enhance the business? Does the company plan to develop applications of its own?
Honestly, neither phone is simply "better" for business. It's about needs, goals, and which phone fits the company's culture best. If a company only needs phones for emailing and keeping company executives in the loop, then the BlackBerry is likely the better choice. If applications and better Internet proves to be a bigger priority, then the iPhone is the way to go.
If I have one piece of advice to give, it's this: do not underestimate the usefulness and productivity that iPhone applications can bring to a company. I was just at the doctor today and during the visit he pulled out his iPhone to check and see if there are any downsides from a specific treatment. These applications extend the functionality of phones in ways that make them so critical in today's workplace. This is in addition to pulling up an app and finding the closet Starbuck's when you need a caffeine fix.
I have been resistant on many fronts from moving to the iPhone for business purposes in the past; mainly due to the bug with Exchange email integration. However, with the new 3GS iPhone is getting harder and harder to resist for business use.

Ingenux Broadens Their Volunteer Program

December 22nd, 2009 -The Ingenux
team expanded their volunteer outreach this holiday season by preparing a home
cooked meal for the children and families staying at the Ronald McDonald House
in Oklahoma City.
The Ronald McDonald House encourages the
local community to help their non-profit establishment by providing dinner for
their residents. Ingenux prepared a Mexican themed dinner that included
enchiladas, tacos, and quesadillas and each team member participated in the
preparation of the meal for the families. Several employees dressed in ponchos
and sombreros to be festive while other sombreros were set on the dining
tables, filled with sweets for the kids.
"This was a wonderful team building experience for us but
most importantly the opportunity to do something for those families facing
difficult days was very heart warming," Ingenux Customer Liaison, Brynn Mays,
said. "This gift will help us in our mission of care and comfort for families of ill children," Executive Director of the Oklahoma City Ronald McDonald House, Herb Gilkey, said. "It's volunteers, staff and friends like you, doing exactly what is needed, at exactly the right time, in order to help make a difference in the lives of ill children."
The Ronald McDonald house is celebrating its
25th year of helping sick children and families. They run strictly
off of donations and volunteerism and are dedicated to improving children's access to the
highest quality health care by providing a comfortable living environment for
them and their family at no cost.

Ingenux Further Develops Internship Program
Pacifique Mahoro- Development Intern
Ingenux launched an internship program last year and we have been fortunate enough to have another wonderful intern. Pacifique Mahoro originally from Rwanda joined the Ingenux team in early November for a 3 month Development Internship. Mahoro is attending Oklahoma Christian University under a scholarship sponsored by the Rwandan Government and studying Computer Science with a minor in Management. He aspires to be a professional web/software developer and would love to be one of the pioneers bringing the software industry to Rwanda.
While participating in our internship here at Ingenux Mahoro was able to work on projects from beginning to end and understand what it is like working with ETA's and clients. He has been also able to expand his knowledge in today's web languages and techniques such as PHP, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, and Flash.
"Ingenux has a great team. They made me feel part of Ingenux. Everyone, especially my mentor, Jason, had a lot of passion to teach me new techniques as well as help me do a great job. I've worked in other places, but I never felt this honored, respected, and motivated as I was at Ingenux and all was possible with help of a great and helping team and great manager," Mahoro, said.
